We like our babies to be big…and older. Babies who are
born prematurely can cause big heartbreak and are high cost. Pregnancy
management from Avidyn Health works to educate mothers and help
high-risk pregnancies to last longer, allowing babies a few precious
weeks of gestation that makes all the difference in the world.
On average, pre-term babies enrolled in our program are 2.2 weeks
older and 1.5 pounds heavier than infants not enrolled. And, they’re
less expensive—on average $23,000 less.
Enrollment is voluntary and easy. Members can sign up on the
Web or via our toll-free phone number. We can also identify (and
then invite to enroll) women thinking about pregnancy or who are
in their first trimester through our health and wellness program
or pharmacy claims for prenatal vitamins.
We begin contact early (first trimester is ideal) and continue
through pregnancy and after delivery. If we identify a high-risk
enrollee, we begin case management.
Registered nurses educate members by phone and through the mail.
Members also receive introductory packets including a wallet card
with signs and symptoms of pre-term labor.
Bigger babies and bigger savings—it’s a win for everyone!
